The Year That Changed Journalism

Columbia Journalism Review

With contributions from Jill Abramson, Margaret Sullivan, Janine Gibson, McKay Coppins, and Hannah Seligson, the Columbia Journalism Review’s Fall 2017 issue looks back at Donald Trump’s first year in office and the changing dynamics between the president and the press. As CJR publisher and editor in chief Kyle Pope writes in the introduction, “When we started planning this issue and framing our subject as ‘The Year That Changed Journalism,’ we thought we might be accused of hyperbole. Now it’s understatement that has us worried.”

Pope asked Definite Article’s Gabriel Snyder to serve as the guest editor for the issue, assisting with planning the lineup, commissioning and editing columns and features, and contributing to overall packaging of graphic elements.
